Slow + Silent Era

Take a few deep breaths, flow slow and steady through the exhale.

It’s easier said than done, but if you truly take the time to slow down, step outside of yourself, evaluate what matters, make the lists, get organized, and clear the clutter, you’ll be well on your way! Here, you want to imagine the life you want to live, the things that provide that lifestyle and go after it. The purpose is to find and live at a pace that is calm, peaceful and comfortable for you. If you’re someone who feels anxious and stressed, exhausted and worn out, work on slowing I all down. Slow your breath, slow your mind, slow your function and flow, slow it alllll down. There’s no rush nor dire need to do allll the things or be alllll the things. That’s your anxious mind talking, calm it down. You have control over this.

Walk away from drama and chaos. Let go of what brings you stress and anxiety, let go of what depletes you of your energy and peace. Give yourself care and attention, focus on making your bubble peaceful, safe, and happy. Immerse yourself in the silence, the nothingness around you, until you find the sound that brings peace and calm to your mind, body, and soul. This is when and where you begin to build. The key is to control what you can and give yourself grace for the things you can’t.

My soft + silent era entails waking up with ease, regardless of what the day holds or how I feel. First thing on the daily agenda is, finding my peace in meditation, prayer and puppy cuddles! I set and schedule my day for self care, patient care, admin work and wind down time. I find if I give myself enough time to plan the things I need to do in the day, I can flow easily through tasks but also not get off track or stressed over things that pop up in the day. I’ve made mental note of what brings me anxiety and grief, and I work daily to deal with those things-I call them ‘the nouns’ as it’s all the people, places, and things that steal our peace, hinder our healing and our growth. They say, anything that steals your peace is too expensive and that is the motto of the millinia for me, yall! Living in peace and in my slow and silent era helps me balance my physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health….and that’s my healing journey !
